Hey guys

I have a 2003 1.9tdi (130). Every year I seem to have the same problem at this time of year. i.e cold mornings. Basically the heater underneath the car sounds like a jet engine. The after a couple of minutes I start getting lots of smoke appear. Fords, previously, replaced a diode? and told me that the smoke was spilt oild burning off. It has had to be replaced every year for the past 2 years.

Obviously it is now out of Warranty and I dont particularly want to go back to Fords and spend lots of money there.

Anybody got any ideas about this, what it is, is it a known fault etc.

Thanks

Umm..is this not just the Aux heater coming into play like it does every winter if temp below 10c?

What colour is the smoke?..any smell?

Its supposed to make a jet engine noise..im jealous...mine dont work ..

Take a look at my profile..at my personal pic....does it look like that?

Me thinks you are being taken for a ride....if the temp is lower than 10c then the heater kicks in with a jet engine noise and you will get some smoke...

it happens every year and is nothing to worry about.unless the smoke is not white.

I'ts supposed to sound like that but the smoke should clear up after a minute or so if it's not been operated for a while. If it dont clear then look in the FAQ's for Auxilliary heater topics mate. ATB, Dave
